Another week brings another Friday. As the year moves along, more and more releases are emerging.
Doja Cat tops this week’s New Music Friday with the release of her deluxe album, Scarlet 2 CLAUDE, via Kemosabe Records/RCA Records. “MASC,” featuring Teezo Touchdown, is the singer’s latest offering just in time for her performance at Coachella. She teased the song earlier in the week, and the song follows the release of Scarlet which features other songs “Fuck The Girls,” “Agora Hills” and “Paint the Town Red.”
She said of the song, “I feel like it connects to the story of Scarlet in some degree and if you look up his personality traits and who he is and his story, you’ll understand the whole connection. There’s a control aspect, he just abuses his power and his control. Claude Frollo doesn’t depict a single person in my life. It’s like a metaphor for the people that creatives endure on a daily basis,” the singer says about the name of her deluxe edition – S2: Claude Frollo.
JoJo Siwa is channeling her “can’t be tamed” era after unleashing her latest offering “Karma” coupled with the song’s music video. Says Siwa, “I am so stoked because this has been such a long time coming and so much work getting to this point. For ‘Karma’ to finally be here and finally be in the world’s hands is incredible. WE DID IT. It hasn’t been easy, it’s been hard as s–t, and the criticism has been real, but we did it, and I am just so happy, so proud and so ready for the world to enjoy the show.”
Other releases we can’t stop listening to this week come from Conan Gray, Ava Max, Benson Boone, Bryson Tiller, Imagine Dragons, Glass Animals, Kehlani, J. Cole, Charlie XCX, Chappell Roan, Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, Luke Hemmings, Lenny Kravitz, Tori Kelly, Paul Russell, Lizzy McAlpine, The Black Keys, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Boys World, Omar Apollo, The Warning and The Last Dinner Party; with exceptional collaborations from G-Eazy, Coi Leray and Kaliii, Steve Aoki and Kiddo, Two Friends and Arizona Zervas, David Guetta and OneRepublic, Lil Wayne and Young Thug, GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion, Rainbow Kitten Surprise and Kacey Musgraves and Sia and Labrinth; and FIRE releases from newcomers Grace Cummings, Anna Graves, Camille Parker, Will Liney, Liz Lieber, Emmy Meli and GRIFF.
