Foxtel has announced a new streaming deal for viewers, with SBS On Demand now available to customers.
The pay TV service revealed subscribers would now have access to SBS’ library of content via Foxtel iQ3 and iQ4 boxes from Tuesday April 28.
It’s the latest expansion deal for Foxtel*, which already has Netflix and ABC iview among its offerings.
This includes popular series’ including The Handmaid’s Tale, The Young Pope, The New Pope, The Hunting, New Girl and Harlots, among others, now available to watch in one place.
Foxtel’s Chief Product and Strategy Officer Alice Mascia made the announcement today.

“We are pleased to add the incredibly popular SBS On Demand app to our iQ3s and iQ4s providing customers an even broader range of content directly on their Foxtel set top boxes while also giving SBS access to a highly engaged TV audience,” Ms Mascia said.
“The addition of SBS On Demand comes at a particularly relevant time for customers as they settle in at home supporting social distancing measures.
“Since its launch last year, feedback from customers on the New Foxtel Experience has been exceptionally positive with more than one million homes now experiencing the best of TV and on demand all on one place.”
SBS On Demand will begin arriving for iQ3 and iQ4 customers from tomorrow morning and will download automatically to set top boxes.

It comes after Foxtel announced in July last year customers would be able to directly access Netflix’s popular TV shows and movies from set-top boxes.
On the redesigned interface, a Netflix carousel was included and curated with general, non-algorithmic suggestions.
Foxtel also rolled out a new remote control with a Netflix button that immediately launches the Netflix app within Foxtel’s platform.
